Discover how Hmong girls learn to spin and weave from a young age, as they are the ones who make clothes for their families. Each family has their own plot of land where they grow flax. Weaving linen is a time-consuming and multi-step process. The flax is harvested, dried, hulled and spun. Hmong women spend all their free time, even while shopping or on the road, joining the threads and spinning the flax by hand. The spun flax is boiled, rolled and pressed into small threads, then strung on a loom and woven into fabric. The woven fabric is dried, beaten repeatedly with pebbles or rolled on stone slabs to make it soft, shiny and smooth. Beeswax patterns are drawn on before being dyed with indigo

Luckily, TK quickly became my bestie. The tour was well organized and included a fantastic mix of activities to interesting places, and downtime. The Pu Luong eco-garden is a real treat. I was easily able to add an extra day in Ninh Binh and appreciated the company's flexibility and thoughtfulness (thanks Christophe!).

I highly recommend this company, we stayed at two great locations where we had occasion to explore the life of locals - great experience and delicious food. ;) Our tour guide was Hung who’s a great professional who’s happy to share his knowledge about the places we visited - very kind with great sense of humor. Nous avons eu la chance de découvrir cette magnifique région du Viet Nam. Entre balades sur un bateau en bambou, la grotte, les rizières ou encore la rencontre avec les locaux. Nous repartons la tête plein de merveilleux souvenirs. Grâce à Mr Truong, amoureux de son pays, nous avons appris beaucoup de chose concernant la culture vietnamienne. Il ne sait pas arrêté à une simple visite, il a veiller à ce que notre séjour se passe au mieux. Il a même tenu compte de nos restrictions alimentaires. Nous vous le recommandons sans hésitation.

Our guide, Nat, was excellent ! very good English and he is well informed about the places we went to. Has a good sense of humour and easy to spend those few days with him. Everything went smoothly. We were happy with meals and accommodation.
CarolynK2024-03-12Gorgeous and fun in a small group setting with excellent guide, lodging and food!! I do not hesitate to recommend this group!! I had such a wonderful time staying off the typical tourist paths and off the large tour buses in favor of eco-friendly lower-on-the-radar spots. I wanted a responsible, local, affordable, outdoor adventure with exercise, visits to communities, plus some culture, glamour and great food. I got it all!! Very experienced Truong expertly guided and coordinated our outings. He was very amicable, clearly loves the land, easy to understand (excellent English), on time, reliable, patient, and concerned with our comfort, safety, food issues, etc. He was assisted by office staff member Tuan who was equally enthusiastic and helpful--and happy to get reacquainted with the field. My favorites parts were the Puluong rice field paddy walks, which were just stunning--and not overrun like Sapa. Boating through 1 km cave (Tour C, I believe) at UNESCO site Trang An was a first and very exotic! Both of the ecolodges associated with ECO Travel-Go Green Vietnam were VERY comfortable. Great heating and bedding was divine. Food was abundant and excellent! I also appreciated that the "Halong Bay" cruise (not guided by the two gentlemen at that point) was actually to further parts in Lan Ha Bay and to Cat Ba island (both much less touristy). It was on Mon Cheri Cruises, which was a five-star accommodation. The boat was so luxurious and relaxing!! The crew and Cruise Director were top notch! Enjoy yourself with these folks!!!Karin V2024-03-10So much beauty Mai Chau and Pu Luong is a beauty on earth. Hopefully it can keep his tranquility far from mass tourism. Mr Truõng guided us as the best! He loves his country very much and you can feel that. Mr Truõng doesn't talk all the time (like some guides do) but he was there for us, every moment of the day.
Zixuan C2024-01-26Beautiful resort with a great view Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean with all the amenities one would need. Spectacular view of the mountain range from the resort. Food at the restaurant were pretty tasty as well and have a wide variety of food and beverage to choose from. Overall very happy with the stay here.
